Ryan Pedlow, Underwater Photographer I am an amateur photographer based in Brisbane, Australia. I've combined my love for the aquatic world with my passion for photography. Whether it is underwater marine life, or wrecks of past generations, this is the world that I enjoying showing in my images. I hope you enjoy. The majority of my diving is done in the SE Queensland/Northern NSW area of Australia, with favorite sites being around Moreton and Stradbroke Islands off Brisbane, and Julian Rocks off Byron Bay. So far, overseas diving trips have included the Philippines, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. I started shooting underwater in 2004 with a Canon Powershot A75, in a Canon housing. A few photos on this site were taken with this camera, however, it was limited in what it could achieve. In 2007, I upgraded to a Canon G7 in an Ikelite housing, and with an Ikelite DS-51 substrobe and Epoque wet wide angle lens. This camera was my real learning tool, and the majority of underwater and above water images from 2007 and 2008 are from this setup. Mid 2008 I upgraded for a third time, taking the giant step to a dSLR. A Canon EOS 40D was the weapon of choice, soon after housing in a Aquatica housing and using Inon strobes.
